Why I Posh

Vanessa is the youngest daughter in a family of 5 living in Uganda. Dad is a farmer, and he’s surprisingly good with money, using what is sent in innovative and intelligent ways. Vanessa’s older sisters are in school, but she won’t start for another year. Because when sponsorship started Vanessa suffered from malaria and all three children were malnourished and stunted, their personalities are just starting to emerge. More information will come in time!Her sisters used to get sent home from school for unpaid school fees. And during the day the only child eating a meal was Martha, the middle daughter. At night everyone would have a small basic meal, at least on a good day. Vanessa and her family live at the very bottom of the world’s poorest 1%. When sponsorship started they were existing on 5 dollars a month income, which gave no room for anything but basic survival; perhaps one meal a day, on a good day, no soap, no extra’s, and a deep well of debt for these good parents to try and keep their daughters in school.This closet strives to lift a group of children from around the world out of generational poverty. Through tools like extra nutrition, schooling, Montessori toys, books and educational supplies, and yes, art supplies (because I tend to sponsor art chicks) these kids are given a chance to play and dream, learn and thrive while their parents have a little breathing room and some help getting back on their feet.
