Sole Soma recalls first falling in love with her native Congolese music as a child, then Caribbean music from her short stay in the Bahamas. In Miami as a teen, she drifted toward the Euro-pop sound and underground dance music scene and eventually fell in love with house music. She most enjoyed music that leaned in a tropical direction which somehow reminded her of her youth.
