Rather than narrative or drama, the focus is on presence—how a restrained line and a limited wash can carry emotional weight without excess.

Working in watercolor and ink allows for suggestion over certainty. What’s left unfinished becomes part of the conversation, inviting the viewer to slow down and look more carefully. The figure exists in a moment of pause, where vulnerability and composure share the same space.

My ongoing figurative work is increasingly about this balance: clarity without explanation, emotion without spectacle. I’m interested in how simplicity—when handled deliberately—can feel both contemporary and timeless.
