I've been told by three or four people that this record is good. They are friends, though. Not writers for Rolling Stone magazine. To you, their word is as good as a professional thief's. When I want someone's honest opinion about my music, I ask a four-year-old. My little cousin once told me that my music is boring. He kind of made my day. I'm not sure what he'd say about this new album. He's too old now and polite. Regardless of whether it's good or not, I can say that I'm proud of the work. As an artist I try not to be anything I'm not, but I also try not to run in place. I could have easily put out another record of guitar and bowed upright bass and extra light production. And I'm proud of those old albums, and I like that sort of music. But to do that again would have been like me repeating the eighth grade. At the very least, I hope this record represents ninth grade. Love, Aaron.
