Two very interesting Byzantine bronze coins from 498A.D. or later. The Emperior Anastasius started the use of the bronze coins for everyday payments. To use to buy bread, wine or cheese for example. On the obverse would be a picture of the ruler at that time while on the reverse would be the denomination. These coins are stamped with an "M" which is a 40 nummi or a full Follis. Coins are guaranteed to be bronze originals and were from the Yesteryear Books and Antiquities collection. Coins have not been cleaned or buffed. We have several sets of two each valued at $125 or best offer.
