Londoner Jon Hopkins, 24, follows up is genre defining 2001 debut, Opalescent', with the release of his new album 'Contact Note' in August 2004 through One World Music. This exciting exploration into delicate, melodic electronica confirms Planet Mixology's 2001 prediction that Jon is "a genius in the making". This new album will no doubt confirm that the genius is now made.

With 12 fresh new cuts 'Contact Note' delivers intricate beat patterns, driving basslines, guitar riffs, waving synths and ethereal vocals. Lushly produced and pristinely mixed 'Contact Note' gives an instant appeal to Jon's music, from the intense 'Circle', the infectious 'Symmetry' and '100' drenched in beautiful vintage techno effects, to the melancholic piano of 'Searchlight' and the crystalline acoustic guitar of 'Glasstop'.

Drawing on his time as a graduate from The Royal College of Music and collaborations with such musical luminaries as Brian Eno and Jeff Beck, Jon has delved further into his intense brand of epic electroinca and produced an album divided into three distinct movements. 'Contact Note' slowly evolves into a deep, compelling musical experience concluding with the stunning third part where he masters to perfection his skills as a classically trained musician, to give his most abstract work delicate impressionist touches.
