How it works
Attach the Module: The SM1 module connects to the specific Artista machine (165, 170, or 180) using a dedicated cable.
Transfer Designs: To use the module, you will need to connect your machine to a computer.
Adapter: Use a serial-to-USB adapter, such as the Keyspan USA-19HS, to bridge the gap between the machine's COM port and your computer's USB port.
Software: Use the Bernina ArtLink software on your computer to select and transfer designs to the machine.
Embroider: Once the design is transferred, the machine will sew it out.
Important Notes
Model Compatibility: Ensure you have the correct SM1 module, as it is specifically designed for the Artista 165, 170, and 180.
Software: Newer versions of Bernina software can be used with older machines like the Artista 180 when connected properly.
